Hispanic Parents Support Group
For Spanish-speaking Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities
"ĄJuntos!" means "together" and is the name of the Hispanic Parents Support Group, which helps Spanish-speaking parents of children with disabilities understand the challenges they face daily are the same ones that others in the group are experiencing. The group brings together parents in a relaxed, casual setting that gives them an opportunity to share and learn from each other.
A typical meeting features a presentation by a guest speaker, followed by a question and answer session. Parents in attendance also enjoy discussion about the presentation topic and other topics that relate to having a child with a disability, such as school issues, relationship issues, or dealing with professionals.
The group meets monthly. For meeting times and locations, contact TARC at 918-582-8272.
